Jersey photographer: a winter dog photoshoot

Winter is my favourite time of year to photograph dogs. The sunlight is gorgeously soft, which is perfect for photographing the texture of your dog’s fur and their twinkly eyes. All the earthy colours in nature at this time of year often compliment your dog’s colour. The beaches and forests are deserted, so your pup can have free run on the photoshoot with few distractions. And dogs seem much happier in winter temperatures than summer ones, which means you won’t get lots of photos of them too hot and with their tongue hanging out!

This photoshoot of Riley and her owners was on a beautiful crisp winters day in January. She had a little trip to the groomers before her photoshoot, so smelt divine and looked wonderful! She was a dream to photograph, and I loved how she interacted with her owners on the photoshoot, giving them a little paw or nudge if we paused too long. I hope you love looking through their gallery, and with huge thanks to Jane and Michael for letting me share a few of my favourites with you.

If you’d like to book your beloved dog in for a photoshoot, I would love to hear from you. My sessions are super relaxed and perfect for those that are camera shy, as it should just feel like going for a dog walk with a friend :-)
